IGN has reported that Electronic Arts (EA) has prevented Microsoft from including any Porsches in its upcoming racing game Forza Motorsport 4. EA owns the rights to depictions of Porsches in video games and is refusing to license the images to Microsoft. Forza’s Creative Director Dan Greenawalt, explained that the “Porsche license has been available only through a sub-licensing deal with EA.” Greenawalt continues to say that after allowing 35 different Porsches in Forza 3, “EA couldn’t see their way toward collaborating again.” This new stance by EA may lead to future racing games being billed as the “exclusive home” of certain car companies.
